Senator Tyler Dees was elected to the Senate in 2022 and was sworn on January 9, 2023. He represents District 35, which includes the western part of Benton and Washington Counties. Senator Dees is vice chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He is a member of the Senate Transportation, Technology and Legislative Affairs Committee, the Joint Performance Review Committee, the Joint Budget Committee, the Arkansas Legislative Council and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee. In the 2025 regular session Senator Dees sponsored Act 122 of 2025 which is also known as the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act. This act bans cell phones and other digital electronics during the school day. He also sponsored Acts 900 and 901, which strengthen the Social Media Safety Act and create a right of action against a Social Media Platform. In 2023, Senator Dees sponsored legislation to prohibit industrial hemp that contain certain Delta Tetrahydrocannabinol. He also sponsored legislation to prohibit the use of absentee ballot drop boxes and to create the Protection of Minors Distribution of Harmful Material Act.
