Representative Thuy Tran is serving her second term representing Oregon’s House District 45–which includes parts of Northeast and Southeast Portland, Maywood Park, Parkrose, Argay Terrace, Montavilla, and Cully. Having grown up in a low-income, immigrant household, Rep. Tran understands the critical need for supportive policies—particularly for families living on modest incomes or learning English as a second language. Rep. Tran engages the community in a multitude of roles. After earning a B.S. in Biology from UCLA, a Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University, and an MBA from George Fox University, she has owned and operated Rose City Vision since 1995, providing eye care to neighbors in Northeast Portland. She is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Oregon Air National Guard, and a former Parkrose School Board member.
