State Representative Steve Demetriou is serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 35th Ohio House District, which includes portions of Geauga, Portage and Summit counties. In addition to serving as a majority whip for the 136th General Assembly, Demetriou serves on the Development, Small Business, Technology and Innovation, and Ways and Means committees. Representative Demetriou studied economics at the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 2011 with Dean’s List honors and a bachelor’s degree. After West Point, Demetriou was commissioned as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. During his time in the Army, Demetriou completed Army Ranger and Airborne training. He served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service. After the military, Demetriou started, grew, and eventually sold a small business where he employed over 60 people. He now runs an investment business with his family.
