Senator Steve Crowell was elected to the Senate in November 2022 and was sworn in on January 9, 2023. He represents District 3, which includes Clark, Columbia, Lafayette and Nevada Counties and parts of Hot Spring, Hempstead and Pike Counties. Senator Crowell is the Senate vice-chair of the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee. He is also a member of the Senate Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, the Senate Efficiency Committee, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee and the Joint Interim Committee on Legislative Facilities Committee. During the 94 th General Assembly, Senator Crowell sponsored Act 460 of 2023 amend the law concerning damaged ballots and Act 305 eliminate write-in candidates on ballots. He was the lead Senate sponsor of legislation to create the “Arkansas Rocks! Mining and Mineral Trail” in southwest Arkansas. Senator Crowell also sponsored legislation to amend the membership on the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission and to move the commission to the State Parks division.
