First elected in November 2024, State Representative Rebecca Martinez is proud to represent the 22 nd District, which includes Plainville, Farmington, and Southington. Rep. Martinez currently serves on the Appropriations, Children, General Law, and Public Health Committees. Rep. Martinez has been a major advocate for her district, helping secure funds for her towns and addressing affordability in her community. Rep. Martinez has lived in Plainville since 2009 with her husband Javier, their two sons Mason and Logan, and their dog Josie. She has worked in healthcare for over 24 years, and is currently a nurse for Elara Caring. Rep. Martinez served on the Plainville Board of Education for five years, serving as curriculum chair for all five years and as Vice Chair for one year. Rep. Martinez was also appointed to the State Board of Examiners for Nursing in 2020 and served until December 2024.
