State Representative Patty Marie Stinson is a proud native and lifelong resident of Butler, Georgia, the county seat of Taylor County in rural Southwest Georgia. Rep. Stinson is one of four children born to the late Anna Mae Jefferson Carson, a God‑fearing woman, entrepreneur and community pillar whose example shaped Patty Marie’s lifelong commitment to service, compassion, leadership and civic engagement. After graduating from Taylor County Schools and attending the Georgia Institute of Technology, Rep. Stinson began building a career defined by purpose and public service. Her service started in 1996 with the Taylor County Board of Elections, followed by eight years on the Taylor County Board of Commissioners. In 2013, Rep. Stinson was sworn in as the state representative for House District 139 in the Georgia House of Representatives. Following redistricting, her district expanded to include communities across Dooly, Macon and Taylor counties, as well as the cities of Fort Valley, Americus and Andersonville—now representing more than 59,000 residents in House District 150.
