District State Rep. Mike Harris was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in May 2022. He represents the 52nd District, which encompasses part of Oakland County: the cities of Lake Angelus and Clarkston, Independence Township, and portions of Springfield and Waterford townships. Committees Rep. Harris chairs the House Insurance Committee . He serves as the vice chair of the House Government Operations Committee , and he is a member of the House Economic Competitiveness Committee , the House Judiciary Committee , and the Legislative Council . Rep. Harris also serves on the House leadership team as the majority caucus whip. Education Rep. Harris attended Mott Community College where he majored in criminal justice. He then attended the police academy at Delta College. Professional Before taking office, Rep. Harris served in law enforcement for 26 years, including 25 years with the Waterford Township Police Department. Public Office and Affiliations Rep.
