Marty Foncello

Rep. Foncello was first elected to the 107th District, serving Brookfield, the Stony Hill section of Bethel and the Hawleyville neighborhood of Newtown, in 2022. During the 2025-2026 term, he was named as a member of the Appropriations Committee, Education Committee, and Government Administration and Elections Committee. In 1999, Marty was elected First Selectman of the Town of Brookfield. He served in this capacity for two terms. While serving as First Selectman, Marty was called to active duty with the Army in Washington, DC, following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Following his tenure as First Selectman, Marty served as a Senior Intelligence Officer with the newly created Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis. For over 14 years, Marty worked in New York City as a liaison to the NYPD, FDNY and Office of Emergency Management. He also worked closely with members of the private sector as well as his colleagues from the Intelligence Community and from the DHS component agencies located in NYC.
