Luke Meerman

District State Rep. Luke Meerman is a lifelong resident of the 89th House District and was first elected to the Michigan House in November 2018. He represents the people of the townships of Allendale, Blendon, Chester, Polkton, Tallmadge, Wright, and the City of Coopersville in Ottawa County, the townships of Casnovia, Egelston, Fruitport, Moorland, Ravenna, and Sullivan in Muskegon County, as well as part of the township of Tyrone in Kent County. Committees Rep. Meerman is the Chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Child Welfare System. He is also the Vice Chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Homeland Security and Foreign Influence, a fitting assignment as the representative has served as the co-chair of the Legislature’s Working Group on National Security, which has focused on protecting Michiganders against potential security threats from adversarial foreign nations since 2023. He serves as a member of the full House Oversight Committee and the House Health Policy Committee. Professional and Public Affiliations Rep.
