Senator Justin Boyd was elected in 2022 to represent District 27, which includes most of Fort Smith in Sebastian County. Senator Boyd is the Senate vice chair of the Legislative Council and vice chair of the Senate Insurance and Commerce Committee. He is a member of the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee, the Senate Rules, Resolutions and Memorials Committee, the Joint Public Retirement and Social Security Programs Committee, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee and the Task Force on Autism. Senator Boyd served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2015 through 2022. As a House member he served as vice co-chair of the Joint Budget Committee and was a member of the House Insurance and Commerce Committee and the House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee. In the 2025 regular session Senator Boyd sponsored Act 427 to create the Strengthen Arkansas Homes Fund, from which homeowners may apply for grants to fortify roofs and strengthen other parts of their residence against tornadoes, hail and wind damage.
