He has participated in numerous community activities, serving as a member of the Indiana State Fair Board and Indiana State Fair Commission. In addition, he spent 12 years as a member of the Hendricks County 4-H Fair Board. Other activities include serving as a member of the Hendricks County Extension Board and Indiana Farm Bureau.
