Representative Jeff Hales, a Democrat, represents all of University City and a portion of Clayton (District 86) in St. Louis County. He was elected to his first term in 2024 and serves on the committees on Financial Institutions and Local Governments, as well as the special committee on Intergovernmental Affairs. Jeff previously served as Council Member for the 1st Ward of University City, prioritizing cooperation, understanding, and delivering results for the community. In this role, Hales focused on government transparency, ensuring live-streaming and recording of council meetings for public access. He also collaborated on projects bringing nearly $500 million of investment and development to University City, including the Costco, Avenir, and University City Local Developments. Hales’ priority in the Missouri House is to continue promoting economic development within the district, supporting the progress of our public schools, protecting LGBTQ+ rights and women’s reproductive healthcare, and the rights of all those in the 86th District and Missouri.
