Jason Stephens is in his third full term in the Ohio House after being appointed in 2019. He proudly serves the 93rd District which encompasses Gallia, Jackson, and Lawrence Counties as their State Representative. Stephens served as the Speaker of the House for the entire 135th General Assembly. During this time, the House passed the largest tax cuts in state history while at the same time passing record-setting budgets. The 135th General Assembly passed the largest transportation budget in history, an operating budget focusing on school funding and promoting economic development throughout Ohio, as well as passing the largest capital budget with one-time investments impacting communities large and small throughout the state. Stephens has an extensive background in local government, as well, previously serving as Lawrence County Auditor from 2011-2019. He was also a Lawrence County Commissioner from 2001-2011, serving as commission president in both 2002 and 2009-2010.
