Senator Jake Oliveira proudly represents the Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester District, which includes twelve communities, including his hometown of Ludlow. With over two decades in public service, Jake's journey began during his junior year at Ludlow High School when he served as a student representative to the Ludlow School Committee. He later served four years on the Ludlow Town Meeting and twelve years as an elected member of the Ludlow School Committee. In 2016, while leading efforts to oppose the expansion of charter schools without local approval, he became the youngest President of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees. A proud product of public education, Jake earned a Bachelor of Arts from Framingham State University after Ludlow High. At Framingham State, he served three years on the campus Board of Trustees, was a student member of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education, and was a founding member of PHENOM—the Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts.
