Gordon E. Rogers (R-Dist. 21, Coventry, Foster, Scituate, West Greenwich) was first elected to the Senate in November 2018. Senator Rogers was elected Senate Minority Whip in August 2022, and as such serves as an ex-officio member of all standing Senate committees. He currently serves as Secretary of the Senate Committee on Housing & Municipal Government and is a member of the Senate Committee on Environment & Agriculture. Sen. Rogers previously served on the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Committee on Rules, Government Ethics & Oversight. Senator Rogers is a full time DPW Director and an Assistant Emergency Director for the Town of Foster. He is also an active volunteer in his hometown. He has been a member of the Moosup Valley Fire Department since 1980 and currently serves as lieutenant. He is also a volunteer EMT. In 2023, he was appointed to the Rhode Island Emergency Management Advisory Council.
