Gloria Mendoza

Rep. Gloria Mendoza has lived in Yakima County for more than 45 years. She represents Washington state’s 14th Legislative District—a Mexican immigrant and former farmworker raised on a farmworker budget by hard-working parents. Gloria grew up in Grandview, Washington, where she is now raising her family. She is the proud mother of three children and understands the challenges of families in Central Washington. Gloria has more than 28 years in public service. She worked as an employment and training manager for a nonprofit organization in Eastern Washington before starting her own business. Gloria has owned and operated various small businesses for 25 years. She is the CEO and founder of GMC Training Institute, a private vocational and technical school that opened in 1999 and is recognized for helping the underserved population obtain commercial driver licenses. She is also the founder of GMC Family Services, which has provided services to children and families in Washington since 2006.
