Gina Johnsen

District State Representative Gina Johnsen was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022 and was re-elected to a second term in 2024. She represents the 78th District, encompassing parts of Kent, Ionia, Barry, and Eaton counties. Johnsen currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules. She is also a member of the committees on Veterans and Families, Judiciary, and Natural Resources and Tourism. Education Johnsen holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies from Wellesley College. Professional and personal background A dedicated community leader, Gina oversees the function of Michigan Pray, a prayer facility for people of faith across Michigan. With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she remains deeply committed to public service through both faith-based initiatives and healthcare advocacy.
