EMILY J. LONG of Newfane, Windham County, Democrat, grew up in a large family on a small farm in Vermont where community service was a priority and an expectation. She spent over four decades helping operate a family art business. She has two children and one grandchild. A passionate supporter of public education, Emily has served since 1994 in many capacities on local school boards and continues as a member of her local school board. She was a longtime member and former president of the Vermont School Boards Association and is a former member of the board of directors of the Vermont School Boards Insurance Trust. Member of the House of Representatives: 2015 – present.
