Eddie Lumsden was elected to state office in November of 2012 and represents House District 12, which includes all of Chattooga County and a portion of Floyd County. Eddie is a lifelong resident of Floyd County. He is a graduate of Armuchee High School, Floyd College and Berry College. He is a veteran, retired state trooper and small business owner. Immediately after graduating from high school, Eddie joined the U.S. Air Force/Air Guard, where he spent six years serving his country. After completing active service, he returned to Floyd County where he attended Floyd College. While attending college, he went to work with the Georgia State Patrol as a way to pay for college. It turned into a 27 year career. He retired as a master trooper in 1999. He earned an associate’s degree from Floyd College and went on to complete a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from Berry College. Eddie is married to his childhood sweetheart, Teresa Pearson. They have two daughters, Julie and Rebecca. They have four grandchildren. Eddie and Teresa have been married for 47 years.
