Drew MacEwen

Drew MacEwen was first elected to the House in 2012 and quickly emerged as a leader on issues such as tax reform and education funding reform. Drew has brought a bold agenda to the Legislature, rooted in his experiences as both a business and civic leader in his community. Drew is on the House Republican leadership team, serving as assistant floor leader. He is also the ranking member of the House Commerce and Gaming Committee , the assistant ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee , and a member of the House Capital Budget Committee . Additionally, he serves on the Joint Committee on Veterans’ and Military Affairs and the Joint Task Force on Economic Resilience of Maritime and Manufacturing in Washington. He is also an ex-officio member of the Washington Wildlife Recreation Coalition. Drew served in the United States Navy for six years. After graduating from the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program, he served in the submarine force. Drew first developed a strong bond with western Washington after being stationed at Naval Base Kitsap.
