DEBRA “DEBBIE” POWERS is a lifelong Vermonter who grew up on a dairy farm in Ira, Vermont. She attended a one-room schoolhouse, Ira Central School, and graduated from Mill River Union High School in 1984. In 1986, she earned a degree in Agriculture Business from Vermont Technical College. Debbie even milked cows the morning of her wedding that year! She has been married to her husband for 39 years, and together they have four children. They are also the proud grandparents of one grandson, one granddaughter, and another expected in May 2026. Debbie’s professional life has centered around agriculture and community service. She was actively involved in dairy farming from 1986–1999, briefly in 2000–2001, and again in 2008. Currently, she works as a Customer Service Representative at Powers Agency, a position she has held since 2016. Debbie has also dedicated a significant amount of time to volunteer work. She coached girls’ basketball at Union Baptist Christian School for 10 years (1989–1999) and volunteered as a physical education teacher there as well.
