CHRIS KEYSER was born in Chelsea, VT, to Governor F. Ray Keyser, Jr. and Joan Keyser. He has a younger brother and sister. He went to Chelsea Elementary School before the family moved to Proctor and graduated from Proctor Jr./Sr. High School. He then graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. He was the assistant golf course superintendent and ski area manager at Quechee Lakes before purchasing a business in Proctor. He was the owner and CEO of a retail/commercial energy business for 40 years before retiring in 2019. He has three children and four grandchildren. His hobbies include skiing, hunting and fishing, golf, woodworking, and yard work. Chris has been deeply involved volunteering his time and talent to local, state, and national organizations. Locally, he is past chair and on the BOD of the Rutland Chamber of Commerce, Rutland Economic Development Corporation, the Killington Music Festival, past treasurer of the Vermont Farmers Food Center, current treasurer and BOD of CEDRR, past chair and currently on the finance committee of Rutland Mental Health Services, and past president (twice) of Rutland City Rotary.
