Representative Cathy Jo Loy, a Republican, proudly represents part of Jasper County (District 163) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2024. In addition to her legislative duties, Loy has a diverse background as a graphic designer and display artist. She previously ran a small art and event business and was also a licensed home daycare provider. Appointed by Governor Parson, she served for four years on the Missouri Public Charter School Commission, where she worked to improve educational opportunities across the state. Loy is actively involved in her community. She and her husband, Clint, are members of Christ the King Church in Joplin. Together, they have raised five children and are now the proud grandparents of ten grandchildren. They also serve as guardians to a special needs adult, which has given Loy firsthand insight into the difficulties faced by families in accessing support services.
