BRENDA STEADY of Milton, VT has been married 45 years and has two adult sons and one granddaughter. The lifelong Milton resident is the youngest child of six children. She graduated from Milton High School and Champlain College. As a high school student she played field hockey, basketball, and softball, was on yearbook staff, worked on the school newspaper, and was elected to the school student council. After graduation from college she worked as a Secretary for Crowley Insurance and Senator Tom Crowley. She also worked as a bookkeeper for a major food chain, worked as Don Turner’s personal assistant at C21 Jack Associates, and for 10 years, worked in the Milton School District as a substitute teacher and aide. Now she is retired and serving as a State Legislator. Brenda was a United Church of Milton council member and in the 1980s served on the committee to get Kindergarten into the school system, worked on two charter changes, and served as Justice of the Peace/Civil Board for 22 years.
