ALYSSA BLACK of Essex is a health care administrator, mother, and citizen advocate, currently serving her first term in the Vermont State Legislature. She was born and raised in Fredonia, NY where she graduated from Fredonia High School and subsequently attended The University of Vermont. She first moved to Vermont in 1990, when her husband left the military to return home and help run the family business. She has resided in Essex since 1995. As a long-time resident, Alyssa is deeply embedded in the Essex community. All three of her children graduated from the Essex public school system, and she has worked for a local Family Practice that serves over 16,000 area residents for the past 24 years. Alyssa has donated her time and efforts to numerous initiatives to strengthen our healthcare system.
