Abdelnasser Rashid represents parts of Chicago's southwest side and the western and southwestern suburbs. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Rashid has passed more than ten laws and was appointed to co-chair Illinois' AI Task Force. He received the 2025 Milestone Achievement Award from the Illinois Environmental Council for his landmark legislation phasing out cancer-linked forever chemicals from consumer products. His legislative priorities include affordability, environmental justice, consumer protection, and responsible technology governance. First elected in 2022, he is the first Palestinian American to serve in the Illinois General Assembly. He lives in Bridgeview with his wife and four children.
